A Campaign to Reduce Falls Among Elderly
On June8, the DOH and Hawaii Prevention Consortium partnered with Foodland Supermarkets, Times Supermarkets, KTA Superstores, Kaiser Permanente, Walgreens Pharmacies and the Hawaii Community Pharmacy Association to sponsor the 2015 Senior Fall Prevention Campaign. This nation-wide program will aim to reduce fall-related injuries among senior citizens.
For those family members with senior citizens at home, the DOH suggest that you have your doctor review their medications yearly, have their eyes checked and make sure that their home is safe by removing fall hazards.
